Animals have no legal rights - in fact they are considered property.  As a Florida Animal Law Attorney, I represent pet owners with legal issues related to their companion animals.  This could range from defending allegedly dangerous dogs from being killed by the government to pet custody disputes, to veterinary malpractice. 

 

I have also successfully represented people who encountered housing issues related to their service animals and emotional support animals - I can advise and help to determine if a condo or apartment is violating the law. 

 

Finally, all too often dogs can be targeted for destruction by the local government if considered "dangerous".  Sometimes, the owner may wish to challenge the process, but these laws vary by county and city.  It is important to consult with an attorney as the process can be very emotional and difficult to navigate.
